Digital Beach

Nikki has been windsurfing for more than twenty years and lived beside the ocean for the past ten (in Brighton on the south coast of England, and now in El Medano, Tenerife). It has played a big part in her life.
These Images were inspired by the sea and the people who play in and around it ... surfers, windsurfers, fishermen, day trippers etc.
Using software (Adobe Photoshop) Nikki combines and manipulates elements to create an "Alternative Beach of the Imagination" - composite images that are a synthesis of photography, graphic design and painting..
A surfer taps into the ocean's energy, a giant seagull watches over monster crabs, fishermen dream of the impossible catch, and the Men in Black walk on water.

Digital Dogs
Since moving to Tenerife, Nikki has been helping the hardworking animal rescue centres there by running a website (www.tenerifedogs.com) seeking to find homes for abandoned dogs, and in 2010 she was commissioned to produce a calendar (the "Wooftastic 2011 K9 Calendar").
The Digital Dogs images (some of which were produced for the calendar) celebrate Man's Best Friend in a variety of quirky, fun and unusual settings: a skateboarding dog, a pooch making music on a laptop, a pup driving a truck ...
Using software to manipulate her own photographs of these wonderful woofers, and drawing on ideas from Pop Art, Surrealism, Salvador Dali and Rene Margritte, she explores an imaginary Planet Dog.
